City Edge Redevelopment

Enviro Links Design Pty Ltd (ELD) undertook the hard and soft landscape detail design, documentation and supervision of the 128 dwelling medium density residential complex integrating public and private housing in 1999-2002. City Edge, now a decade on from placement on Consolidation has matured and has successfully realised its potential.

ELD is aware of the values the community has in regards to the urban forest of the Inner North of Canberra. With this in mind ELD design aided integration of a number of exceptional quality existing mature Elm, Oak and Plane trees into a central community and public space, creating a ‘village green’ as a centrepiece few developments can match. This internal focus has created numerous spaces throughout the development to enhance community living values whilst still retaining private and more intimate spaces.

In 2012 ELD won the Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA) ACT Award for Urban Design for City Edge project.
