Project Description

The master plan study included detailed investigative report of the role and usage of the historic National Estate listed Haig Park (25ha) both as a district park and with the impact of surrounding commercial expansion. Heritage aspects through to developing a future vision for the park were reviewed, including detailed recommendations on vegetation rejuvenation, furniture, signage, trails, carparking, public and management access, services, irrigation, pathways and various other aspects. (1987). Staged Pinus radiata (and select other trees) replacement strategy implemented over 5 of the 7 stages (1985 – 1989).

ELD was Re-engaged after a Public Tender nearly 25 years later to prepare a new Master Plan reflecting contemporary needs and design while retaining the tree and heritage relationship focus.
