Project Description
Enviro Links Design undertook the design, documentation and construction surveillance of both pond sites. The primary design objective was to integrate the wetland systems into the urban context and provide a useable open space amenity. The ponds form an integral element of the North Canberra Reticulation Initiative, for which Enviro Links were successful in winning the 2012 AILA ACT Urban Design category award. They assist the function of water storage, and water quality improvement in Canberra’s north and combined with the Flemington Road ponds (landscape design also completed by ELD) provide a water supply to a number of commercial and recreational land uses.
