Project Description

Landscape Design, documentation and surveillance of a large new water quality improvement and SW harvesting pond network in Canberra’s north. The system includes two ponds focused at public access; habitat and learning opportunities with a third designed to harvest peak flows and provide water a storage amenity. The landscape design focuses on the use of endemic plant and macrophyte species. It creates a variety of spaces for varying uses and demographic focus’.

The design also features an outdoor education area for up to 60 students overlooking the pond edge and adjoining a Natural Temperate Grassland ridgeline.  To assist public understanding and observation uses the design also integrates interpretative signage and bird hide screens.
